Parish Committees

Welcome Committee

St. John’s is blessed with an abundance of people who love to welcome new parishioners by calling them with a message of welcome, followed by a note and parish prayer card a week or so later. All new members/families are registered by the Pastoral Minister who then sends their name and number to one of the Welcome Committee members, initiating the personal welcome call, etc. New parishioners are also welcomed by name in the parish bulletin.

Parish Council

The purpose of Parish Council is to act as a channel through which vision, insights and concerns of the total parish community are discussed to advise and assist the pastor in carrying out programs and activities for the spiritual and material welfare of the parish community. The elected membership of council is comprised of seven men, seven women and two young adults. Elections are held on May.

The Parish Finance Committee consists of men and women from the parish who assist the pastor in the parish’s financial well-being and fiscal planning.

Liturgy Committee

The liturgical environment committee decorates the church for holidays and holy days.
