Health Resource Ministry

Health ResourceThe Health Resource Ministry provides health, education, information and counseling. In addition, the Health Resource Ministry attempts to coordinate parish and community health resources to help meet the general health needs of the parish and community. The parish nurse’s primary role is in the area of prevention and wellness working through educational programs, seminars, workshops, and discussion support groups. Social Justice

Social JusticeBegun in 2001, this group of parishioners works diligently to educate the parish on justice issues that impact locally and globally. These issues also include environmental concerns. Weekly bulletin articles, annual projects, sale of fairly traded items, support of various activities and fundraisers, and awareness raising, combine with letter-writing campaigns to raise the level of consciousness of parishioners and provide the opportunity for their involvement. Classes with the jr. high students and the forming of their justice inspired group called Imagine have spearheaded school involvement and awareness. New members are always welcome.

Respect Life

Respect Life

The Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life Committee strives to implement the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities at the parish level. We work to protect the life of the unborn and the elderly, support those who have lost children, and help women who are choosing life for their babies. We also have on our committee an advocate for persons with disabilities. The Committee is under the auspices of the Diocesan Pro-Life Office of Buffalo.

Join Us! Joining the Pro-Life Committee is a great way to become active in your parish. Meetings are held bi-monthly. If you are interested in joining, or for more information on the Respect Life program, contact Rose Hershenov at rosehershenov@gmail.
