Ladies of Charity
Ladies of Charity is an organization of women in the parish who volunteer their time to make infant layette sets for needy newborns. We do this on Tuesday’s from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in room 26 of Klauder Hall.
There are numerous activities taking place: knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing. These activities can also be done at home and brought to our meetings where we assemble complete layettes, including diapers, onesies, blankets, sleepers, and bibs. These completed layettes are then taken to Diocese of Buffalo, Ladies of Charity store on Broadway where they are distributed to needy newborns.
During the month of July, a Christmas tree is set up in the front of the church. Little pink/blue paper booties are attached to this tree. Many families take home a bootie and buy the suggested item, ex. diapers; this is how we complete the layette.
Ladies, come join our fun group and help needy newborns at the same time. For more information, please call the rectory (716-873-1122).
